- We, Lam Soon (Hong Kong) Limited, Lam Soon Products Supply (Hong Kong) Company Limited, Lam Soon Cleaning & Caring Laboratories (Hong Kong) Company Limited and Lam Soon Systems Limited (collectively “Lam Soon”, each a “member of the Lam Soon Group”) are committed to protecting your personal data.
- Hong Kong legislation controls the collection, use and storage of personal information (“data”). This policy is being provided to individuals dealing with Lam Soon in Hong Kong (“Relevant Persons”) (including individuals browsing haomama.com or any other Lam Soon’s website (collectively “LS Website”)) from whom data have been and/or may in the future be collected.
- This policy applies to all data submitted via the LS Website. Relevant Persons may be asked to provide data when registering for membership on the LS Website, participating in competition / lucky draw / game, receiving information, ordering products, filling out a survey, or involving in any other activities conducted via the LS Website. The provision of data is voluntary and Relevant Persons are not required to provide more information than is necessary to participate in the LS Website’s activities. If a Relevant Person does not want his/her data to be collected, please do not provide it to us. However, failure to supply such data may result in inability to set up an account, participate in relevant activities, or log in the membership area.
- The purposes for which data relating to a Relevant Person may be used are as follows: –
- the daily operation of Lam Soon’s business and the LS Website and sales of products of Lam Soon to Relevant Persons including but not limited to:
- processing and evaluating the Relevant Persons’ applications and inquiries in respect of their membership and purchasing orders;
- administering and providing services in relation to the products of Lam Soon;
- invoicing and collecting payment; and
- contacting the Relevant Persons for any of the above purposes;
- researching, supervising, analyzing, improving, designing, promoting and / or popularizing the LS Website and / or any other facilities, services and / or products provided to any customers of Lam Soon;
- facilitating communication amongst members and Lam Soon, and encouraging members to feedback as to their expectation and needs of the LS Website and Lam Soon and of the facilities, services and / or products provided;
- notifying the redemption of gift / coupon for rewards points plan, and relevant arrangement for the redemption;
- marketing services, products and other subjects (please see further details in paragraph (6) below);
- the enforcement of Relevant Persons’ obligations, including without limitation collection of amounts outstanding from Relevant Persons;
- complying with the obligations, requirements or arrangements for disclosing and using data that apply to Lam Soon or that it is expected to comply according to:
- any law binding or applying to it within or outside Hong Kong existing currently and in the future;
- any guidelines or guidance given or issued by any legal, regulatory, governmental, tax, law enforcement or other authorities, or industry bodies or associations existing currently and in the future;
- enabling an actual or proposed assignee of Lam Soon, or participant or sub-participant of Lam Soon’s rights in respect of the Relevant Person to evaluate the transaction intended to be the subject of the assignment, participation or sub-participation; and
- purposes relating thereto.
- the daily operation of Lam Soon’s business and the LS Website and sales of products of Lam Soon to Relevant Persons including but not limited to:
- Data held by Lam Soon relating to a Relevant Person will be kept confidential but Lam Soon may provide such information to the following parties for the purposes set out in paragraph 4 above: –
- any agent, contractor or third party service provider who provides marketing, promotional, administrative, management, telecommunications, computer, technology, legal, payment or clearing or other services to Lam Soon in connection with the operation of its business (including promotion, gifts, lucky draw, game and other activities from time to time);
- any other person under a duty of confidentiality to Lam Soon including a member of the Lam Soon Group which has undertaken to keep such information confidential;
- any person to whom Lam Soon is under an obligation or otherwise required to make disclosure under the requirements of any law binding on or applying to Lam Soon, or any disclosure under and for the purposes of any guidelines or guidance given or issued by any legal, regulatory, governmental, tax, law enforcement or other authorities, or industry bodies or associations with which Lam Soon are expected to comply;
- any actual or proposed assignee of Lam Soon or participant or sub-participant or transferee of Lam Soon’s rights in respect of the Relevant Person; and
- any member of the Lam Soon Group; and
- external service providers (including but not limited to mailing houses, telecommunication companies, telemarketing and direct sales agents, call centres, data processing companies and information technology companies) that Lam Soon engages for the purposes set out in paragraph 4(v) above.
Such information may be transferred to a place outside Hong Kong.
- USE OF DATA IN DIRECT MARKETING
Lam Soon intends to use a Relevant Person’s data in direct marketing and Lam Soon requires the Relevant Person’s consent (which includes an indication of no objection) for that purpose. In this connection, please note that:- the name and contact details of a Relevant Person held by Lam Soon from time to time may be used by Lam Soon in direct marketing;
- the following classes of services, products and subjects may be marketed: foods products, personal care products, finance, investment, insurance, banking and related services and products;
- the above services, products and subjects may be provided by Lam Soon and/or any member of the Lam Soon Group and/or any subsidiary of Lam Soon’s parent company, Hong Leong Group (including Guoco Group Limited and its subsidiaries and associated companies).
If a Relevant Person does not wish Lam Soon to use his/her data in direct marketing as described above, the Relevant Person may exercise his/her opt-out right by notifying Lam Soon.
- Under and in accordance with the terms of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (the “Ordinance”) and the Code of Practice on Consumer Credit Data, any Relevant Person has the right: –
- to check whether Lam Soon holds data about him and of access to such data;
- to require Lam Soon to correct any data relating to him which is inaccurate; and
- to ascertain Lam Soon’s policies and practices in relation to data and to be informed of the kind of personal data held by Lam Soon.
- In accordance with the terms of the Ordinance, Lam Soon has the right to charge a reasonable fee for the processing of any data access request.

- If you do not want to receive any direct marketing or follow up regarding products and special promotions from Lam Soon, please notify us in writing or sending email to webmaster@lamsoon.com. No fee will be charged.
- Your visiting to the LS Website may trigger our use of cookies. Cookies used (if any) in any part of the LS Website will not be deployed for collecting personally identifiable information. If cookies are deployed for collecting personally identifiable information in the future, we will make separate notices accordingly. For your information, Cookies are small computer files that can be stored in web surfers’ computers for the purposes of obtaining configuration information and analysing web surfers’ viewing habits. They can save you from registering again when re-visiting a website and are commonly used to track your preferences in relation to the subject matter of the website. You may refuse to accept Cookies (by modifying the relevant Internet options or browsing preferences of your computer system), but you may not be able to utilize or activate certain available functions in the LS Website as the result.
- The provisions of this policy may form part of the account terms and conditions and/or the agreement or arrangements that you have entered or may enter into with Lam Soon. If any inconsistency is found, the provision of this policy shall prevail.
- This policy is subject to change from time to time and any changes will be posted on Lam Soon’s website at www.lamsoon.com.
- In case of discrepancies between the English and Chinese versions, the English version shall prevail.
